Cash Money/Universal Motown Records team with m-Wise to offer a revolutionary label-specific mobile subscription service, "Cash Money Mobile," featuring multi-platinum recording superstars, Lil Wayne, Birdman, Hot Boys and more.
In an effort to revolutionize the interaction between Cash Money Records and their loyal fan base, Cash Money/Universal Motown Records (UMRG) has teamed up with mobile technology provider m-Wise (OTC.BB: MWIS) to offer fans a ground-breaking mobile fan club experience. The m-Wise mobile fan club, a label-centric mobile subscription service, offers fans exclusive online and mobile content like ringtones, graphics, video clips, Cash Money trivia, weekly contests, and text alert services.
This unique, first-of-its-kind, mobile subscription service will also bring fans Cash Money Records’ news, artist news, trivia, and sweepstakes for highly sought after prizes such as VIP tickets to concerts, prize packs, and autographed memorabilia directly to the artists’ biggest fans.
The service will be available to subscribers via various channels, such as an on-deck mobile portal (via your mobile phone’s web browser), a web portal (www.cashmoneymobile.net), SMS messages, and also MMS messages. Carriers such as Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Alltel, Boost & Suncom will participate.
Cash Money’s mobile subscription club provides an evolution from the traditional off-deck service to coincide with the launch of it’s premiere artist’s highly anticipated album, Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III,” released via Universal Motown/Cash Money Records on June 10th.
Sylvia Rhone, President of Universal Motown Records, said: "We are constantly watching market trends and responding to how our artists' audiences are behaving. We know that Lil Wayne's most loyal fans live in the mobile community, which is generating a large percentage of his revenue stream. By teaming with m-Wise to create ‘Cash Money Mobile,' the first label-specific mobile subscription service, we are taking the fan club model to a whole new level of exclusivity and intimacy. The ability to combine Lil Wayne's superstar stature with a revolutionary way to connect him directly and instantly with his core consumer base is giving us a fantastic platform to launch his new album."
Zach Sivan, m-Wise Chief Executive Officer said: "We are delighted to embark on this new relationship with Universal Motown. The mobile fan club concept is a great example of the synergy between mobile communications and personalized entertainment where consumers are allowed to have direct interaction with their favorite artists. M-Wise has been delivering mobile entertainment services for the last eight years and we are pleased to make our expertise available for Universal Motown’s fan club evolution."
